Andrew (Drew) Gorgey has served as District Counsel to the Garfield County Federal Mineral Lease District since its inception in 2011. He is also the District’s Administrative Manager. Mr. Gorgey has worked in Colorado local government for 24 of the last 26 years, both full- and part-time, as both an attorney and a manager. From 2011-16, he served as county attorney and then as county manager for Garfield County, and afterward as city manager (interim) for the City of Glenwood Springs. He is past president of the Association of Colorado County Administrators.
Mr. Gorgey served as a deputy district attorney in Colorado’s Fourth Judicial District and later served the El Paso County and Garfield County Attorney’s Offices for a total of ten years, including executive leadership positions in both offices. The El Paso County Bar Association (Colorado Springs) elected him one of the association’s youngest presidents in 2003-04 and named him Outstanding Young Lawyer in 1999. Drew has lectured on leadership at the American Bar Association’s prestigious Bar Leadership Institute in Chicago, the Colorado Bar Association’s Bar Leadership Training course (COBALT), and the Special District Association of Colorado, among others.
