After careful consideration of COVID’s public health and safety impacts, and a record low distribution of mineral lease funds from the Department of Local Affairs in September, 2020, the Board of Directors has made the difficult but responsible decision to forego our annual awards luncheon, normally held every January. The 2020 Fall Grant Application Cycle is open. Applications are due at GCFMLD by noon on August 28, 2020. Board decisions will be made on October 21, 2020.

The Board of Directors of the Garfield County Federal Mineral Lease District has decided that in the best interest of the District and its core programs, we will not be offering a Joint Grant Program in 2020. Having considered the District’s near-term financial outlook, we feel it will be of greater benefit to the political subdivisions of Garfield County, and more true to our mission, to focus available funds on our Traditional and Mini Grant programs and our Grantee of the Year award.

Grants awarded for the Spring Grant Cycle totaled $1,048,380.00 with $827,000.00 awarded through six grants in the Traditional Grant Program, and $221,380.00 awarded through nine grants in the Mini Grant Program.
